ABS Module Repair

The ABS module stands for the anti-lock braking system module.  This module is designed to keep your wheels from locking up when you slam on the brakes.  The ABS module is designed to keep your vehicle’s wheels from locking up and sliding into another object.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY ABS MODULE IS BAD?

The most obvious sign of a bad ABS module is when the ABS light comes on and stays on.  A technician will need to diagnose if the ABS module is actually bad before replacing.  Bad or faulty wiring can also cause the ABS module to malfunction. Also, if you notice that your braking performance has deteriorated it could be a sign of a faulty ABS module.

CAN I REPLACE THE ABS MODULE MYSELF?

Yes, however you should verify that the part is faulty and there is not something else causing the ABS light to come on.
